Generative AI has introduced several new possibilities. This has also given rise to many questions and even doubts. There are many areas that needs to be understood. This ranges from how AI will affect jobs, finance, climate, inequality, population and lots of others. Generative AI is not new technology. It has been in existence for a very long time with the introduction of machine learning making it a hot topic these days. Generative AI has made it easy to produce different types of content in the form of text, imagery, audio and even video within the shortest possible time and using minimal effort. Despite the fact that generative AI comes with several opportunities, it should not be overlooked that there are downsides to these opportunities as well. The movie industry, academics as well as the writing industry are a few of the industries that can and will be bear the brunt of generative AI. It will now be possible to produce texts, images and content that previously took hours and required the use of humans as man-power within seconds using AI tools. These will mean that human resources previously employed to do such work will either have to re-skill themselves or will be made redundant as machines can now easily do their work in the shortest possible time. Generative AI is an area that is fast developing and many things still needs to be understood. The real question however is : Is the world ready for this change?
